I am deeply grateful for the personal and professional experiences I have had over the years, that have inspired me to keep learning and unlearning.
I was born in Malaysia and grew up in India. After completing my university education in India (BA, MSW), I returned to Malaysia and worked in the non-profit sector. I immigrated to Canada in 1995. After working a minimum wage job, I joined the Government of British Columbia and served in front-line child welfare, senior policy and management positions for nearly two decades. During this time, I worked directly with children, youth, families and communities. I also worked directly with and provided strategic advice to senior bureaucrats and Ministers. During this time I also pursed doctoral course work at the University of Victoria.
In 2015, I returned to India and worked as Head of HR and AVP of Organizational Excellence at NewGen Knowledge Works (India/Global Teams). During this time, I travelled to Malaysia, US and UK to engage with teams, understand complex organizational issues and co-create solutions. I joined Simon Fraser University (SFU) in 2017 as Associate Vice President of External Relations. I am also an Adjunct and Visiting Professor at SFU's School of Public Policy.
In 2024, after working with MSM Unify as Chief Impact Officer, I moved to India and founded MuchMagic Consulting®. As founder and CEO, I am committed to being a global connector, collaborator and change maker. I look forward to working with individuals and organizations around the world who are involved in initiatives in diverse sectors.
Over the years, I have had an exciting career, and have greatly enjoyed being a global keynote speaker, moderator, emcee, presenter, multilingual expert panelist, frontline worker, senior administrator, adjunct professor and consultant. I am deeply involved in pro bono work internationally and enjoy this immensely. I am grateful to be the mother of two amazing humans, Prabhanj and Niranj who inspire me daily to be the best version of myself.
As a skilled professional with a diverse and international background, I can lead and support proactive, creative, and innovative problem-solving and co-create progressive and inclusive initiatives.
